PLAZA PROTOCOL

PLAZA PROTOCOL

Since it emerged from an abandoned construction site of an underground shopping mall on the outskirts of Ljubljana in 2020, Plaza Protocol has been developing exhibition situations in various transitional and anthropogenic sites, engaging with their material and symbolic dynamics.

In collaboration with artists and other agents Plaza Protocol has been exploring ways art could mutate to account for a shifting, volatile environment and “reimagineer” the plots and protocols that shape how we relate to it.

The situations unfold as material fictions, summoned by a constellation of artworks involving human and more-than-human actors, as well as natural and artificial phenomena. The artworks function as landmarks, modifying the landscape and our experience and perception, while attempting to open the given locality unto another possible reality.
