Youth Grows Forever

Loosely inspired by Russell Hoban’s novel Riddley Walker (1980), the video takes place in a world after the end of the future, where the new archaic lives at the very beginning of a new form of worlding, when reality becomes mythological again.

In this “new iron age”, humans scavenge iron from the relics of our time. Trying to understand the past, they come up with a new spectacular mythological interpretation of the world. The new language encounters the old language. A new interpretation of the world, the past, the structure of the universe, and the destiny of humans.

The long sequence guided by a fairy light slowly moves forward as an act of remembrance, showing that a constellation of relics of the old world functions as an ignitor of a new cosmology, a new narration of reality, for the people who, after the end of the new era, are trying to restart at the intersection of technology, myth-making, and magic.

Reality and elements are reinterpreted as mythological, outside the collective hallucination of the current epoch, escaping the ouroboric contours of memory that redirects towards the next epoch.

The folkloristic reimagining and the re-enchantment of the world around us. How to re-world our world in the current moment of political confusion and ecological emergency, to open spaces of possibilities. A new cosmos where whispers of the trees, echoes of the ancestors’ tales, the intuition, the spell, and the dream are the crucible of the awakening.

From water to mud, into the cornfield, and the hanged man at the end of the journey brings light at the end of the path, the ultimate surrender embodying new insights, awareness, and enlightenment, leaving traces and relics behind. We forget in order to remember.

VISIO (Nicola Tirabasso)

VISIO is the alias of musician and visual artist Nicola Tirabasso, based in London. Both in music and visuals, his output investigates the arcane tangents between reality and the unexplainable. Much like a modern antiquarian, he draws from a wide range of fictional and symbolic imaginaries, repurposing them into deconstructed, melancholic universes. Blending acoustic fragments, voice, and glitched synthesis, his work moves between the digital and the spiritual, suspended between fiction and memory.
